Affirmations are a very powerful way to get back to the harmony you were created from. They can be used to help rearrange your thinking so that you begin to build yourself up, rather than staying in a space of thinking that tears you down. When first using affirmations, it is important to stay true to your current emotion; recognize what it is, what you are truly feeling, and then ask yourself if you are ready to leave this space. If you are feeling angry and overwhelmed, saying an affirmation that you are in peace may not be that helpful, but a great way to overcome this bad feeling is by being honest and then working yourself out of it.
You want to stay aware of how you are feeling during this process. You may start by saying I feel bad, unmotivated, ugly, or whatever it may be. Ok, so this is how you are currently feeling, this is your present state of emotion and you are being authentic by admitting this. You are actually on your way to feeling better because you have taken the first step of recognizing what is authentically happening in your mind and emotions. Then ask yourself if you want to stay in this feeling? If not, lets walk our way out of it.
The next step would be to ask yourself what do I want to feel? For example, you may say “I want to be happy and accept myself.” Once you have identified what it is that you do want, you now are moving in the direction of moving away from all that you do not want. Now, lets look into our current moment. Can you find one thing about your current reality that you do like, are happy with or already accept? The sun is shining, its Saturday, my friends and family love me, ect. Focus on that, go into those feelings that exist right now that are good. Try to find this mind frame of gratefulness and look around. What do you see? How do you feel when you are here? As you stay in this place, you are actually walking yourself out of the bad feelings and into the good feelings that are already here. This is the first step of how to truly transform your bad feelings.
There are many different levels of using affirmations and once you understand how to use this first step, you will be ready to discover the next! For more information on how to use affirmations visit: LSSHarmony.com
